6 movies to see this spring

February is such a dreary month. The excitement of the new year and new resolutions is waning, winter has taken its toll and it feels like spring is just around the corner, but taking its sweet time in walking around it. Know what I mean?

To pass the time — and avoid going totally stir-crazy — I love going out to see new movies. It's the perfect thing to do when it's too cold to hang outside but you just can't take another night of Netflix and chill. So, here are my top movie picks coming out in the next few months:

1. Hail, Caesar! - February 5
I dragged Adam (rather unwillingly, I might add) to see this one on Valentine's Day weekend, and I actually liked it a lot. It was quirky and different — similar to the Grand Budapest Hotel, which I really loved. It's about the movie industry in the early 1950s, revolving around the ins and outs of a movie studio as a major Hollywood star gets kidnapped. This one is definitely not for everybody, but it's hilarious for the right sense of humor.

2. How to be Single - February 12
Rebel Wilson gets me every single time. I went to see this one with my friend Ashley and was glad I didn't try to see it with Adam — it's really not a great movie for couples, as you might notice from the title. It's basically your standard rom-com format, but with a lot more comedy. We laughed a lot, but it also covered a lot of topics and emotions that felt relatable back when I was single in college. A good one for a girls night out.

3. Me Before You - March 4
Based off the book by JoJo Moyes, this one is a romance about a woman who becomes the caretaker for a man who has become paralyzed. The book came out in 2012 and received great reviews. I haven't read it yet, but I'm planning to add it to my reading list before I see the movie, which looks so sweet.

4. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - March 2
I love superhero movies, but this one already feels like driving past a car accident and not being able to look away. Batman is Bruce Wane is Christian Bale, am I right? I love Ben Affleck as much as the next guy, but he is NOT Batman. Throw in Superman and it just seems like a mess. We will see...

5. Captain America: Civil War - May 6
And now for a real superhero movie. Captain America is probably my third favorite Avenger, behind Iron Man (obviously) and Black Widow. But aside from that, the Captain America series have been some of my favorite action movies. Plus, Civil War brings in both RDJ and ScarJo. Looks like a recipe for success to me.

6. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising - May 20
Full disclosure: When the first 5 seconds of the preview for this came on before Hail, Caesar!, I think my exact words were, "This looks so terrible." But then it reintroduced the characters from the first movie — which was hilarious — and the second one looks even funnier, if that's possible. I can't wait to see it.

What movies are you looking forward to this year? Any on this list? I'd love to hear!
