I'm redoing my room!

I moved in with my mom temporarily (ha) last summer to save money on rent when I got my internship in Des Moines, but then it turned into a job and I extended the stay. While I had planned to move out after graduation, the situation worked out better for me to take over renting her condo when she moves out next summer.

So when I moved in for my "temporary" stay, I just left most of her stuff in my bedroom and moved mine in on top of it. Can you say cluttered? Now that I'll be staying here for a while though, I've decided to make my bedroom my own and redecorate it completely. I am so, so excited. I'll be painting the dark tealish-green walls a clean white, buying my own furniture and introducing my own personal style all throughout. I can't wait! Here is what the room looks like currently:

The room was already painted this color, and my mom just went with it when she moved in. Nice for a guest room, not so much for me.

This is a really nice desk she already had, but I'm hoping to find a sleek white table to work on instead. I've already found a couple great options at Ikea.

And this vintage dresser... It's pretty, but not for the modern style I'm going for with my decor. And the mirror is so cloudy I can't even use it!

Now that you can see what I have to work with, here are some of my ideas... 

As I've mentioned before, I really love white rooms. I've been talking about painting my room white since I decided to keep living here, and now I'm just counting down the days until I get those paint rollers out!

Styled bar carts are my new home decor obsession. I scouted out a few at HomeGoods last weekend, and I'm planning to put one outside of my closet to hold a breakfast tray, books, flowers — even my outfit for the next day. It's such a versatile piece!

I'm struggling to pick out a bed set that I want for my room. I really like this one, but I'm not sure I want so much pattern in my small room. Do any of you have ideas? I could use suggestions!
