Adam and I decided to put our Christmas gift cards to good use last weekend and make a trip to some of the stores we hadn't visited yet in West Des Moines. We checked out the new Nordstrom Rack and HomeGoods so Adam could look for a couple lamps, and I even found these pretty stacking boxes. I'm kind of obsessed :)
The weather was surprisingly nice for an Iowa January (considerably different from the multiple inches of snow we got yesterday!), so I kept my layers light with a simple gray v-neck (Forever 21) and a light faux leather jacket (Target — similar). The jeans are a light-wash legging style (Express) and rolled twice at the bottom to fit just above my favorite black booties (Target — similar).
This is a typical weekend outfit for me, especially if we're just lounging around and not doing much. I love the classic cut of a v-neck, and the cuffed light-wash jeans look laid back and effortless. I picked up these ankle boots in the fall (impulse buy!), and I'm actually surprised I haven't worn them out yet because I wear them just about every day.
I chose simple gold accessories to pair with the understated casual look, including my new ear cuffs and studs from Bauble Bar (I was so excited to get them in the mail, and how adorable is the packaging?). And of course, my favorite red lipstick: NARS in Dragon Girl.
